Inspiration Behind the Logo
We’re often taught to have a hero from day one. It can be a parent, a firefighter, a doctor, an actor or even a friendly neighbor. This is great, but I want to send the message that children can be their own heroes. They can pilot their own journey and do so daringly. Bessie Coleman and Mildred Hemmons-Carter are perfect examples of truly blazing one’s own path. Did you know the story Mildred Hemmons-Carter and her 70-year long road before being acknowledge as a Designated Original Tuskegee Airman? Or that Bessie Coleman was the first American to earn a pilot’s license? She did this after learning French and moving to France because no one would teach her in America how to fly because of her race. They became their own heroes, ignored their critics and made history. I hope our children’s series will let your little ones see that no barrier is ever impossible to overcome. Check out Bessie doing what she loved above in the video. (Thanks to Michael Fontana for this original video.)

What readers are saying about “Sightseeing with Sandy”
“Excellent Kid’s Book”
I felt like I was back home. The author communicated clearly and quite accurately on historical and cultural events that are still relevant today.
Torren
“Amazing Story”
Not only is the content understandable for kids, but it’s incredibly informative for adults. We didn’t travel as a family, but I know how important it is now. I will be buying the series.
Chris
“I Connected with Them “
I felt like I was a part of Sandy’s adventure. Also, The additional content in the appendices is well thought out and provides great talking points for parents to initiate conversations with their kids.
